Cornhuskers Continue Skid, Thanks to Salazar, Drillers
The Beaumont Drillers trumped the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 9-4, at Drillers Stadium. Beaumont center fielder Manuel Salazar was terrific. He was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The Drillers have now reeled off 6 straight wins.

Beaumont second baseman Kyle Brunner contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 88th hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Beaumont manager Takuzo Kaneshiro.
