Close Win Moves Wolverines to 28-50
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Wichita Wolverines and Windsor Royals.
Wichita Wolverines starter Orlando Sanchez was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Windsor Royals, 2-1. Sanchez picked up the win for Wichita, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Erik Ames zipped up his 15th save.
Catcher Chad Block made an impact for Wichita, when he swatted a run-scoring double off James Towns in the top of the second. For the contest, Block was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
Sanchez attributed the win to "making big pitches in big moments."
After today's action, Wichita sits at 28-50, while Windsor falls to 46-32.
