Burt Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Shane Burt as he led the charge to a nifty 4-1 win over the Shamrocks. The Clearwater second baseman was pure misery for the Pacifica pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Burt put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Shamrocks, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Shane Burt hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season, Burt has gotten 93 hits in 277 at-bats for a .336 batting average with 8 home runs. His stats include 37 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He has played in 75 games.
