Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Sandy Springs Spartans and Kelowna Rockets.

Kelowna got a big-time effort from pitcher Luke Hopkins, but it wasn't enough to keep the Sandy Springs Spartans from winning the game, 5-4. Hopkins threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Today's win puts Sandy Springs at 42-35, while Kelowna falls to 36-42.

Brian Hill delivered a big hit for Sandy Springs. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Spartans ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

Hill told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
