|
The Spokane Bulldogs got a sterling performance from pitcher Andres Esparza, but the Murraysville Peacocks still prevailed, 6-4. Esparza threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Ruben Perez was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Andres Esparza. Yes, it was a win for Murraysville; but their 25-53 mark is nothing to crow about.
Murraysville took a 4-3 lead on Van Penny's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Penny hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Spokane pitcher Andres Esparza visibly frustrated.
"Whenever I help the team," said Penny, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."
