Garay Delivers Walk-Off Win for Peacocks
The Beaumont Drillers got a sterling performance from third baseman Osvaldo Pimentel, but the Murraysville Peacocks still prevailed, 5-4. Pimentel was 2-5 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Steve Matkin snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-3 on the season. Jonathan Huitt suffered the loss. The third-place Peacocks go to 38-29.

Batting in the bottom of the 14th, 24-year old center fielder Bob Garay had a real shot to win the game. Beaumont pitcher Jonathan Huitt was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Garay hit a run-scoring single. The Peacocks had a walk-off triumph.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Garay told reporters after the game.
