The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
Marysville Monarchs starter Ken McCutcheon was dealing. He helped his team knock off the Wichita Wolverines, 3-2. The winning pitcher was McCutcheon, now 7-7. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Carlos Moreno.
Marysville used the hitting of Jaquan Arney to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Monarchs on top, 2-0. For the game, Arney had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Abel Keller.
Despite the win, the Monarchs have a lousy 25-60 record.
