The Boston Whitecaps were defeated, 3-2, by the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Corn Crib, even though Danny Arias pitched well for Boston. Earning his 10th save of the year was Jimmy Johnson. With the win, DeKalb raised its record to 44-42.

Kenneth Turpin helped out the DeKalb cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.

"Every loss stings," said Boston manager T.J. Hall. "This one is no exception."
