DeKalb Hot Streak Continues with 6-4 Win
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers topped the Kelowna Rockets, 6-4, at The Corn Crib. DeKalb catcher Ben Gail was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Jose Huerta, the winning pitcher, improved to 12-5. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. DeKalb has run its win streak to 7 consecutive.
With DeKalb leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Gail hit a fastball from Cesar Leon for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cornhuskers ahead, 6-0.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said DeKalb manager Keith Allen.
