Cornhuskers Show Nerve in Tight 6-5 Win
Starting pitcher Jose Vega pitched well enough to help the DeKalb Cornhuskers beat the Kelowna Rockets, 6-5. DeKalb reliever Jimmy Johnson snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Alan Moors shouldered the loss. DeKalb is now 45-43, while Kelowna is 38-50.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when DeKalb right fielder Jeff Dusenbery, facing Alan Moors, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cornhuskers the 6-5 win.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Vega said.
