Phelan Clubs 2 Home Runs in 12-8 Beaumont Win
Drillers second baseman Joe Phelan put his stamp on his team's 12-8 win over the Roaring River Steelheads. Phelan hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for Beaumont in the contest. Alex Meza earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Beaumont is now 28-48, Roaring River 28-48.

Phelan contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Beaumont in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 6-5, Phelan took a fastball from Alexis Roussel and stroked the home run to left-center. His 19th home run of the season allowed the Drillers to leap in front, 8-6.

"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Phelan.
