The Murraysville Peacocks and Sandy Springs Spartans provided some drama for the home crowd.

Jay Helmke led Sandy Springs to a win over Murraysville. The final score was 7-6. Helmke scored 2 times, while going 3 for 4. The right fielder also totaled 2 RBI. The triumph puts Sandy Springs at 51-38 for the season.

There was more than one reason the Spartans beat the Peacocks, but Helmke's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Murraysville manager Joseph Kelley.
