The Stetson Bowl was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Fraser Valley Black Bears and Rock River Rats.
The Fraser Valley Black Bears did just enough to sneak past the Rock River Rats, 3-2, at The Stetson Bowl. Fraser Valley pitcher Jonathan Emory, in particular, had a standout performance. Tommy Spezia earned the save, his 29th in 33 tries.
The Black Bears got a big at-bat from second baseman Mark Lane. For the game, Lane went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Fraser Valley a 2-0 lead.
"We put together a nice win," Lane said.
Today's win puts Fraser Valley at 54-36, while Rock River falls to 58-32.
