The Kelowna Rockets scooped up a win at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum, dumping the Silicon Valley Hackers, 2-1. Corey MacIndoe, who is tied for 9th in the RAA in strikeouts with 90, was essential to his team's success. MacIndoe got the win, improving to 3-6. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Zach Clark locked down his 10th save.
Had Travis Maul not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Maul hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rockets.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Maul said.
The 'W' lifts Kelowna's record to 39-53.
