The Rock River Rats defeated the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 18-1. Right Fielder Kanenori Fujita deserved a large share of the credit. Fujita went 4 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 4 runs and drove in 6 for the Rats. Rock River pitcher Tony Facio earned the win, hiking his record to 7-3. Edgar Peraza suffered the loss. Clay Parsley notched his 2nd save of the season.

With Rock River leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Fujita hit a knuckleball from Edgar Peraza for a bases-clearing double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Rats ahead, 5-1.

"We took a beating," said losing manager Kinnojo Hara.

The 6th-place Cornhuskers have lost 4 straight games.
