The Boston Whitecaps picked up a win at The Studio, knocking off the Marysville Monarchs, 4-2. On the mound for Boston was left-hander Tim Rae. He played a key role in the triumph. Chris Sarne closed out the game, earning his 18th save. With the win, Boston upped its record to 56-38.

Boston took a 4-2 lead on Mwai Chipende's 15th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Chipende hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Marysville pitcher Dan Baughman visibly frustrated.

"Tim -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall. "He was the key to us winning."
