Madison Beats Boston, 5-3
|
The Madison Beehive spoiled a good performance by Boston right fielder Matt Farmer, bumping off Boston, 5-3, at The Studio. Farmer was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Gui-fan Fou earned the win to go to 4-8. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. The 'W' lifts Madison's record to 35-45.
The Beehive got a big at-bat from right fielder Ryan Cristofano. For the game, Cristofano went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Madison a 2-1 lead.
"I felt good up there," said Cristofano. "I saw the ball well."
