The Windsor Royals picked up a win at Windsor Grounds, taking down the Silicon Valley Hackers, 7-0. Starting pitcher Jon Merino was a big reason why. Merino yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-0. The win puts Windsor at 63-33 this season.

The Royals got a big at-bat from right fielder Scott Niedzielski. For the game, Niedzielski was 1-2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 21st double of the season gave Windsor a 2-0 lead.

"Jon did a tremendous job," said Windsor manager Luis Hernández.
