Black Bears Fall Short, 6-5, at Rock River
Fraser Valley got a terrific game from left fielder Matt Weld. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Rock River, 6-5. Weld belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Rock River pitcher Agustin de la Cruz got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mike Diaz got the loss. Rock River bumps their record to 40-44 with the win.

Nathan Snook went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Rock River. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring single off Mike Diaz. It was his 60th hit of the season.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Snook told the Rock River Gazette.
