The Evanston Bishops rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Justin Montana to a win, beating the Wichita Wolverines, 8-2, at Howling Park. The winning pitcher was Montana, now 9-2. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. With the win over Wichita, the Bishops improved to 54-29.

Evanston used a clutch at-bat from Adam Rummer to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Bishops ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager John Bunce.
