Bishops Score Late, Clip Spartans, 4-3
|
The Evanston Bishops took Keith Hanley's best shot and still were able to collect a win at FUBU Field. The final score had Evanston getting past the Spartans, 4-3, in 11 innings. Hanley over 8 innings allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3. The 4th-place Bishops now have a record of 60-41.
The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Hendricks in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing left-hander Mike Hampton to win the game for Evanston. The home crowd went nuts.
"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Hendricks.
