The Clearwater Seagulls scored a convincing win at Chapman Field, defeating the Spokane Bulldogs, 16-3. One of the hitting stars was Brian Owen, who is tied for 8th in the TAA in doubles with 23, who went 4 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 7. Dave Perez got the win, improving to 5-2. He held the Bulldogs to 2 runs on 3 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 14 and walking 2. The Bulldogs, now 22-79, have lost 10 straight.

With Clearwater leading 13-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Owen came up to bat against Spokane pitcher Dario Pena. Owen hit a slider to center for a bases-clearing double. His 23rd double of the season put the Seagulls on top, 16-2.

"We need to focus on the fundamentals," said Spokane manager Tommy Brereton.
