Monarchs Earn 6-5 Win Against Black Bears
The Marysville Monarchs picked up a win at Mitts Fieldhouse, downing the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 6-5, in 12 innings. On the mound for Marysville was right-hander Bill Montes, who played a pivotal role in the win. Marysville reliever Kelly Bathgate snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Dean Hubert shouldered the loss. The 5th-place Monarchs have won 4 consecutive games.

The Monarchs got a clutch hit from third baseman Steven Carson. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Monarchs.

"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Montes.
