Boston got a terrific game from left fielder Josh Walker. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Moose Jaw, 6-4. Walker went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The save went to Justin Schroeder, number 7 for him. The first-place Canucks have a one-game lead in their division.

Matt Cano had a big 2-run home run for the Canucks in the top of the sixth inning. With Moose Jaw leading 3-1 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a sinker from 26-year old right-handed pitcher David Burger and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Canucks on top, 5-1.

"Being in first place now is good," said Cano. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
