Wolverines Tack 7-4 Loss on Pipe Fitters

The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Manny Carrera into a win. Instead, the Wichita Wolverines prevailed, 7-4. Carrera came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters. Carlos Rotiz earned the win. Joe Singer took the loss for Niagara Falls. The save went to Jaime Clayman, his 1st this season.
Making an impact for Wichita was third baseman Matt Cardon. He drilled a double off Joe Singer in the top of the first. For the game, Cardon was 1 for 4 with a double.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cardon told the Wichita Chronicle.
The victory puts Wichita at 36-57.
