6-3 Triumph Takes Silicon Valley to 72-39
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers knocked off the Murraysville Peacocks, 6-3, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Steve Miller was a big reason Silicon Valley won. The third baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. John Paronto picked up the win in relief for Silicon Valley, while Nick Tullo took the loss. Hector Lopez closed it out for Silicon Valley, earning his 4th save.
Miller had a key at-bat for Silicon Valley in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Silicon Valley an early 2-0 lead.
Silicon Valley manager Brad Jones commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
