Fraser Valley got a big-time effort from pitcher Phil Korth, but it wasn't enough to keep the Sandy Springs Spartans from winning the game, 7-6. Korth threw 7.2 innings of 0-hit ball for the losing team. Sandy Springs pitcher Victor Crawford got the win, upping his record to 6-5. Tommy Spezia got the loss. With the win, Sandy Springs upped its record to 62-48.

Jimmy DeFranco was the walk-off hero for Sandy Springs. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Spartans second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was rocking at the end," DeFranco said.
