Whitecaps Win Close Shave, 8-7
The Boston Whitecaps grabbed a win, 8-7, over the Kelowna Rockets in 10 innings at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Boston catcher Jaime Silvey hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Boston reliever Scott Roberts picked up the win, while Danny Mejia took the loss for Kelowna. Boston is now 60-51, while Kelowna is 47-65.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 25-year old shortstop Jim Johnston. Johnston had a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Whitecaps ahead, 8-7. For the game, Johnston had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Silvey.
