The DeKalb Cornhuskers downed the Madison Beehive, 5-3, at The Corn Crib. Walt Coffin led the way, going 3-for-5 for DeKalb. Joey Marchant, the winner, improved to 6-0. He held the Beehive to 3 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. The loss makes Madison 40-55.

With DeKalb trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Coffin hit a curveball from Josh Steventon for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Cornhuskers ahead, 2-1.

"We did a lot of things right," said Coffin.
