Though he had a great game, Skylar Walsh could not single-handedly produce a win for Wichita. Rock River won the game, 4-2. Walsh was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. The save was credited to Chuck Green, his 12th. With the win, the Rats have a record of 48-49.

Had Joe Vincenti not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Vincenti hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rats.

Rock River manager Shunso Sato was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
