Led by Steve Miller, the Silicon Valley Hackers defeated the Kelowna Rockets, 15-4. Miller, a native of Enid, Oklahoma, was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Hackers. Silicon Valley leads the RCL AA Lou Piniella League by 6½ games.

Tim Cooke took Kelowna hurler Eric Thornton deep in the bottom of the second. His grand slam home run put the Hackers on top, 4-0. In all, Cooke had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"It's not about individual awards," Cooke told a Silicon Valley News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
