Black Bears Win, 8-6, Versus Rock River
|
Fraser Valley first baseman Josh Wheeler helped his team beat the Rock River Rats, 8-6. Wheeler went 2 for 4 for the Black Bears. The winner was Fraser Valley reliever Jon Webb, now 2-2. The loser was Chuck Green. Armando Gimenez wrapped it up, recording his 29th save.
Jason Kidwell came through with a big-time hit for Fraser Valley. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 8-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Kidwell.
Fraser Valley is now 51-50, Rock River 51-50.
