Evanston Dealt 5-1 Defeat
|
Wauwatosa Indians pitcher Elijah West was in top form, leading his team past the Evanston Bishops, 5-1. West got the win, improving to 6-1. He gave up 10 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Kevin Walczak was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 18 save opportunities.
Tyler Doland was 1-4 with a walk for Wauwatosa. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Victor Aguilar. It was his 35th hit of the season.
"I'm happy we won," said West. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
Wauwatosa is now 61-42. Evanston is 50-53.
