The Boston Whitecaps got a good effort from starter Todd Neveau in defeating the Fraser Valley Black Bears at The Studio. The final score was 4-0. Neveau got the win, improving to 4-5. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Tim Rae collected save number 3.
Chad Neese drew 2 walks for Boston. The 26-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Raul Olveda. It was his 9th walk of the season.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Neese told the Boston Herald.
The victory gives Boston a record of 59-45.
