Rodriguez goes 3-for-3, Leads Beetlecats to Win
|
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats used the hitting of left fielder Cesar Rodriguez to subdue the Boston Whitecaps, 6-4. For the game, Rodriguez was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Buzzard's Bay reliever Ryan Woller picked up the win, upping his record to 5-6. Jim Kein was saddled with the loss. The save was credited to Matt Williams, his 14th.
Buzzard's Bay took the lead, 5-4, on Robby Stewart's 14th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Boston pitcher Jim Kein in the bottom of the seventh.
"Cesar showed up tonight," said Buzzard's Bay manager Dorian Payne.
Buzzard's Bay, now 57-69, holds down third place in the RCL AA Gene Mauch Division.
