The Windsor Royals had no problem beating the Moose Jaw Canucks, 11-3, at Ashton Gate. John Whearty, who is tied for 10th in the RAA with a .321 batting average, led the onslaught. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Windsor. Windsor reliever Jim Frizzell was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Isaiah Springfield. In the top of the second, John Gendreau delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Windsor shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Royals in front, 11-3.
