Beehive Throttled by Wolverines, 3-1
|
Wichita used a superb performance from starting pitcher Ernesto Luna to down the Madison Beehive, 3-1. Jose Hinojosa earned the save for Wichita, his 1st. Yes, it was a win for Wichita; but their 44-86 mark is nothing to crow about.
In the bottom of the fifth, Kyle Goodwin delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Wichita right fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Wolverines in front, 3-1.
"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Luna. "So I just have to throw strikes."
