The Silicon Valley Hackers beat the Kelowna Rockets, 9-5, at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. The Hackers got a fine performance from designated hitter Jose Calderon, who went 1-2 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The win puts the Hackers at 89-48, while the Rockets drop to 57-79.

The Rockets had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Hackers going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right fielder Mark LeJeune came to the plate. LeJeune hit a 2-run double on a 0-2 fastball from Kelowna hurler Juan Flores. It was LeJeune's 19th double of the year.

"This was a nice win for us," said Calderon. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
