Cornhuskers Tagged with 4-1 Loss
|
Spokane starter Mario Correa put the DeKalb offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his knuckle curve in leading the Bulldogs to a 4-1 win. Correa, now 8-9, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Andy Carr earned his 7th save in 10 chances.
Ian Pike, who is tied for 3rd in the TAA in doubles with 37, helped out the Spokane cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 1-3.
"Mario gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Spokane skipper .
The last-place Bulldogs go to 35-101.
