Cornhuskers Cut Down Indians, 6-1
|
Pitcher Ciro Della Volpe was rock solid in helping the DeKalb Cornhuskers beat the Wauwatosa Indians, 6-1. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for DeKalb.
Marshall Blumberg had a big grand slam home run for the Cornhuskers in the bottom of the third inning. With DeKalb leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from Kaoru Sakamoto, who is tied for 10th in the TAA in quality starts with 11, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Cornhuskers on top, 6-1.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said DeKalb manager Kinnojo Hara.
