Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Murraysville Peacocks and Roaring River Steelheads.
Alex McCarter imposed his will on the Steelheads from the get-go. Relying mainly on his forkball, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-0 Murraysville triumph. The winning pitcher was McCarter, now 7-10. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5.
Murraysville used the hitting of Zack Levin to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Peacocks on top, 3-0. For the game, Levin had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Said Roaring River manager Mike Bouffard: "They pitched the heck out of us."
The Peacocks sit in last place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League with a record of 56-81.
