Spartans Drop Wolverines, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Sandy Springs Spartans and the Wichita Wolverines, pitcher Lance Kaeser was the difference between victory and defeat. The Sandy Springs right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Spartans win. Sandy Springs now sits at 74-64, while Wichita falls to 45-94.
Sandy Springs needed the clutch hitting of Salvador Guzman to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Spartans on top, 3-2. For the game, Guzman had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Kaeser.
