Rockets Turn Away Shamrocks, 5-3
|
The Kelowna Rockets picked up a win at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum, taking down the Pacifica Shamrocks, 5-3. Starting pitcher Nick Stirling was a big reason why. Picking up the save was Alan Moors, his 26th. Kelowna is 5th in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League with a record of 61-79.
The Rockets got a big at-bat from first baseman George Monahan. For the game, Monahan went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Kelowna a 3-2 lead.
"It's always extra special to win at home," said Monahan.
