The Sandy Springs Spartans downed the Wauwatosa Indians, 5-4, in 10 innings. Mike Shields led the way, going 3-for-4 for Sandy Springs. Victor Crawford picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Kevin Walczak suffered the loss. Sandy Springs raised its record to 71-49 with the win.

The Spartans got a clutch hit from left fielder William Martinez. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Spartans.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Martinez said in reaction to the win.
