Fraser Valley and Sandy Springs got after it at The Stetson Bowl.
The Fraser Valley Black Bears picked up a win at The Stetson Bowl, taking down the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-3. Starting pitcher Jeff Hair was a big reason why. Rick Ezell earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-1.
Had Roy Rudolph not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Rudolph hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Black Bears.
"Jeff went out and got the job done," said Black Bears manager Albert Giles.
