Rockets Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
In a tight contest between the Kelowna Rockets and the Boston Whitecaps, Jose Marquez was the determining factor. The Kelowna left-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. Kelowna reliever Alan Moors picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Joe Jungbauer took the loss. Kelowna goes to 61-82, Boston to 83-59.
Jonathan Reyes was the walk-off hero for Kelowna. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rockets pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Good ballgame," said Boston manager T.J. Hall. "But we came up on the short end."
