Cornhuskers Drop 3-1 Decision to Black Bears
Marco Borunda, who is tied for 10th in the TAA in quality starts with 13, never let the Cornhuskers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Black Bears to a win, 3-1. Picking up the save was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Tommy Spezia. Fraser Valley is now 92-51. DeKalb is 80-62.

Bobby Helmlinger had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Fraser Valley. He came through with a 2-run single to put Fraser Valley in front, 3-0.

"Marco's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Fraser Valley manager Susumu Kono.
