Royals Get Clutch 3-2 Win
|
The Windsor Royals, despite a fine performance by Buzzard's Bay pitcher Chris Sipes, grabbed a 3-2 win at Windsor Grounds. Sipes allowed no runs over 7 innings. The Royals have now reeled off 8 straight wins.
Jeff Johnson was the walk-off hero for Windsor. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Royals center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Was I getting worried?" said Royals manager Luis Hernández. "Nope." Then he added, with a wink, "There was never a doubt in my mind."
