Wolverines Beat Carson City, 2-1

The Wichita Wolverines picked up a win at Cowboys Stadium, taking down the Carson City Mustang, 2-1. Starting pitcher Cole Belgrade was a big reason why. Belgrade, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. The win has Wichita at 52-95.
Wichita used a timely hit from Jordan Garrett to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I was able to miss barrels for the most part and the guys behind me made plays," said Belgrade.
