Lumberjacks Use Late Score to Top Bulldogs, 7-6
Spokane left fielder Mike O'Neill had a good game, even if his team did not. The Bulldogs dropped a 7-6 decision to Adirondack at Paul Bunyan Field. O'Neill went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Peter Nichols snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Bill Antunez suffered the loss. Jim Turner earned the save for Adirondack.

Had Darrell Ball not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ball hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Lumberjacks.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Ball said in reaction to the win.

The Lumberjacks saw their win-loss record go to 78-50. At the same time, the Bulldogs fell to 47-81.
